It's time for a mini-rant, but ONLY because I genuinely care about your business success.
Today we are ranting about the HORRENDOUS use of AI graphics and how they’re literally killing your business. Took me 3 seconds to find this example here because they’re absolutely everywhere.
I don’t even need to redact the business’s info because (IMAGINE THAT) AI left out some important details and the creator didn’t even care to check.
I’m gonna try to keep this as concise and short as I can, because I can truly go on about this for infinity.
Why these graphics are killing your brand
They are so overwhelming to look at, we can’t process this information so we just keep scrolling
There is no brand recognition (fonts, colors, logo, or even your FREAKING BRAND NAME)
They all look the same - no one is stopping to see the same graphic over and over again
From a design standpoint, they’re just hideous
They clearly miss a lot of details and information - this showcases the kind of work you’re fine putting out into the world
I’m not expecting you to be an expert graphic designer, and trust me, I KNOW it’s difficult to be a self-funded solopreneur. But the reality is that owning a business is hard, it’s expensive, and AI is NOT the shortcut you think it is.
Continuing to use it for all your copy and now all your graphics kills your business before it even has a chance to grow.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when designing graphics
Above all, it needs to be quickly readable.
You need to have your own colors and fonts that you use consistently in everything, that’s how you build brand recognition
The font needs to be readable.
Leave a good amount of spacing, in fact, the more the better
We need to be able to read the font.
Please - IT NEEDS TO BE READABLE. THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT.
